CASA Café or Lunch & Learn (continuing education for current volunteers)
CASA Volunteers must accrue 12 CEU (Continuing Education Units) each calendar year. These hours are earned by attending our various In-Service events throughout the year, by attending the Texas CASA Convention, attending various conferences and trainings offered locally.

Our volunteers may also read books or watch videos from the approved lists and submitting a synopsis. See Continuing Education section under Volunteer Tab for full details.

Jan 8th – Lunch & Learn @ 12pm CASA Office –  AISD Therapeutic Intervention Program & CASA
Feb 12th – CASA Café @ 6pm CASA Office – Surrogate Parenting Certification by Connie Mangin
Mar 12th – Lunch & Learn @ 12pm CASA Office – 2Ingage – Come to learn about  “Phase I” of the new foster care redesign program being implemented in our region!
Apr 9th – CASA Café @ 6pm CASA Office – “CASA” Talks – hear how CASA made a difference in their lives from an adoptive family, and a family reunited with their children, followed by open discussion and questions among our Advocates!
May 14th – Lunch & Learn – Educational Advocacy for Teens by Deb Welborn, Educational Specialist with Dept of Family & Protective Services.
June 11th – CASA Café – @ 6 – 7pm Attorneys Erica Hall and Jordan Magee will be presenting on the roles of the AAL, the District Attorney and the Attorney for Parents.
July – no scheduled CEU events – independent activities available below!
Aug 13th – Lunch & Learn – 11:50 – 1:00 – Brandi Purswell – Education Specialist with BCFS Health & Human Services will discuss the ETV (Educational benefits) available to our CPS children.
Sept 13th – TBRI Training by Megan Harbin – full day event – 8:30 – 4:00pm.
Oct 8th – CASA Café – 6 – 7pm – Adoption Process presented by CPS staff
Nov – no scheduled CEU events
Dec – no scheduled CEU events
